Captain America In Korea Filming Avengers 2 D Lee Entertainment, News As ‘Captain America: The Winter Soldier’ poises itself to smash a few box office records, the overall excitement for upcoming Marvel films has also increased with it. The highly anticipated ‘The Avengers: Age of Ultron’ is currently being filmed in Seoul’s Mapo District, but filming will eventually move to the famous Gangnam area. Filming in Korea will wrap up on April 13th. Actor Chris Evans, who plays Captain America, is currently in Seoul and will be filming in the city for the next week. Many Korean fans and media outlets have been flocking to the filming sites in hopes of getting a glimpse. The Captain has been seen on set donning a new uniform (which is somewhat reminiscent of his ‘Captain America: The First Avenger’ uniform) for the next ‘Avengers’ feature, and the images have become a viral sensation for both Korean netizens and fans of the franchise alike. While speculation surrounding the use of Mapo bridge for the film has been high, the only thing we currently know is that Seoul will be the center of a lot of action and destruction. The Avengers: Age of Ultron plot has been hinted to lead Captain America to Korea due to interest in a genetics company, U-Gin. Korean actress Kim Soo Hyun has also been recruited to play a “substantial supporting role” in the upcoming film; it is speculated that she will play a key role at U-Gin. A bump in production occurred on March 30th as a dead body was found in the Han River by a security guard in the film’s production team. However, the body was unrelated to the filming of the movie and did not stop production. It has been reported that the cause of death is suicide. Mapo Bridge (and the other Han River bridges) are well known locations for individuals to commit suicide. The Avengers: Age of Ultron is set to release in theaters on May 1, 2015.
