Korean Fashion Picks of the Week: June 8th-June 14th Victoria Lin Fashion Seoulites know how to dress their outfit up or down with just a swap of their shoes. As prints and colors reign strong in Korean clothing, we find that Seoulites also have fun with their footwear. Sneakers adorned with pops of bright color, printed soles, and print-blocked loafers are popular in Seoul. On the contrary, we also discovered that basic black on boots, booties, sneakers, and lace ups were equally as prominent in Korean fashion. This week, we recap the shoes that we’ve seen in 10 snaps. Here are SeoulSync’s favorite shoes of the week: Open-toed heels, platforms, and booties are emerging in Seoul. The classic stiletto/pump is gaining more attention in bright colors. Seoulites are tucking away their black heels and bringing out their brighter heels for a walk. Clear platforms are slowly trickling their way into Korean fashion although this style is still very rarely seen in Seoul. While gladiator sandals are the most common of all gladiator-styled shoes, we have also seen Seoulites in gladiator heels and other gladiator boots. Comfy loafers and slip-ons are very, very popular in Seoul. Seoulites wear a range of slip-ons in different colors, different styles, and in different fabrications. Women and men in Seoul wear colorful Nikes, usually with a pair of socks. Even if the outfit is more tailored and formal, Seoulites still love to wear their colorful kicks. The ankle strap: the most popular detail this season on and off the runway. These straps can range from thick to thin. Heeled sneakers, a combination of cool and feminine, remain strong in Seoul’s fashion footwear scene. Platforms in different heights for the sandal are also gaining more attention, especially for the summer season. Lace-ups are everywhere on the street! We love this pair of boots with contrast-colored shoelaces; this detail adds so much more to the overall look. We dare you to add a unique shoe to your wardrobe this week! Which will it be?
