Mike’s Cabin Hongdae played host to the successful after-party of SeoulSync’s debut event two weeks ago, our Photo Scavenger Hunt, lending itself as the perfect spot to unwind and socialize after a busy afternoon running around the chilly city taking creative snaps around Seoul.

Originally based in neighboring Sinchon, French-owned Mike’s Cabin recently expanded to Hongdae where it opened its doors exactly one year ago in December as its newer, more spacious, yet cozier branch. This bar in Hongdae has since become a go-to spot for party-goers and expats.

Here are just a few reasons you might want to head off to celebrate the one-year anniversary of this tucked away basement bar in Hongdae.

Creative Cocktails
Self-described as a ‘French-European/Western’ bar and pub, Mike’s Cabin caters well to the international community by offering a generous selection of crowd-pleaser cocktails from piña coladas to caipirinhas, as well as their own unique creations. Their cocktail menu offers more than enough to get you merry, and a firm favorite is their signature ‘Adios Mother F*cker’ – self-explanatory when you hear it consists of six different types of alcohol.  A variety of beers on tap include Red Rock and Guinness, and champagne and French wine are available for those who wish to get sufficiently tipsy with a touch of class.

Music – You choose the songs
The DJ booth at the back may typically blare popular music, pop-rock, bassline, and contemporary reggae, though the ethos of the bar is that it’s up to the crowd to set the vibe.  Mike’s Cabin warmly welcomes song requests and you can expect a real mix here depending on the night, owing to their large international following.

Food – FREE on Thursdays
Food’s available to order all night, and it’s FREE on Thursdays till 10pm! Line your stomach with their bacon pizza and a big plate of nachos or snack on a bowl of popcorn.

Play Games
While away the evening by challenging friends to darts, a foosball match, beer pong, or showing off your skills on their mini skateboard ramp installed in the middle of the dancefloor. (Disclaimer: not recommended even while sober, definitely not after an Adios MF).

Play Host
Mike’s Cabin welcomes private events and regularly hosts birthday parties and themed nights. Reserve and personalize your own special event here by getting in touch with them at info@mikescabinseoul.com.

Party in a cabin
Despite the upbeat, exuberant music, the venue exudes a chilled and cozy vibe, adorned with hand-made posters and decorations.  The wooden tables and chairs that give the place its log-cabin feel were hand-made by the owner himself!

Annie the bulldog
If the vibe, music, drinks, and entertainment don’t do it for you, Mike’s Cabin’s friendly resident bulldog, Annie, frequently lounges around at the bar and mingles with the crowd.
